Body Mass Index Calculator

Do you know exactly where you stand when it comes to your weight? Are you underweight, at your ideal weight, overweight or obese? I’ve added a free tool to my site that will help you determine where you are with respect to your weight. All you have to do is add your weight and height in the fields indicated and you will get your result within an allowable range. You can do “what if” scenarios too. If I weighed ten pounds less, what would be my BMI Index? It’s really a cool and handy tool to use.

Women and Your Ideal Weight

Friday, October 17th, 2008

I often hear women saying that they weigh too much or that they would like to lose a few pounds here and there or tone down a bit. Most women know where their problem areas lie. It could be their hips, buttocks, thighs or under their arms.

Yes, it’s true that some women could afford to lose 10 to 20 pounds or more because it would benefit them in the long-run. For other women, as far as I’m concerned, they happen to look great the way they are and they even look amazing in a bikini! In fact, they are not overweight and do fit into their ideal weight range. It’s just a matter of perception of one’s body. There are of course charts that will tell you based on your height and age what your ideal weight should be. You can find charts like these at your doctor’s office or your doctor can tell you exactly what your ideal weight should be when you go in for an annual check-up. Of course, every woman wants to look the best she possibly can and there’s nothing wrong with that. If you feel you can stand to lose a few pounds without harming your health, feel free to do so. Having perfectly flat or washboard abs for a woman is not a requirement for looking great or being healthy. Sure they look great in a bikini, but so do toned and healthy looking abs as well.

Then there are women who are obviously overweight or obese, yet feel they are not. They deny that they are obese. I guess they are comfortable in their own skin, but it could be detrimental to their health. Again I emphasize that you should fall into your ideal weight range based on your age and height in order to maintain your optimal health.

It’s amazing how some women, even after having children, look as good as they did before they had kids. One current-day example that comes to mind is Sarah Palin. She five children, if my memory serves me correct. You may be wondering: “How do they do it?” The answer to this question has to do with the woman’s genetics, metabolic rate, how active they are during their life (past and present) and of course, nutrition. Basically every woman cannot look like Sarah Palin but you can strive to achieve the best results for your body that you possibly can. This can only be done through proper nutrition, exercise and a positive attitude in life.

So basically what I want to say is that not all women can have The Perfect Body, but you should strive for your ideal weight and you should strive to look and feel the best you can by doing things to lose those unwanted pounds and staying healthy, fit. This can only be done through proper nutrition, exercise and a positive attitude.
